A Learning Environment for the Child

At Jumeirah International Nursery School we understand how children think and grow. Our educational philosophy draws on leading contemporary research on early childhood education.  just us kids 

Studies have shown that:

* The formative years of a child are the most critical to his development, since as much as half of the child's intelligence is developed between the ages of zero and five.  

* Positive interactions between caregivers and children, in settings where there are low child-to-adult ratios, support happier and more engaged children.  

* Children who attend high-quality child-care settings display better cognitive, language, and social skills both on standardized tests and according to parents, teachers, and observers.

* The most effective way for children to learn is through play and by doing, especially, when they are having fun.

Nursery School's exclusive educational programs provide unlimited opportunities for the development of the whole child in a secure and loving environment.  The unique Early Years and Foundation Stage of National Curriculum (UK) provides quality, developmentally age-appropriate programs and activities covering six key developmental domains:

  • Knowledge & Understanding of the self and the World 

  • Mathematics & Cognition

  • Personal, Emotional, & Social Development 

  • Communication, Language and Literacy

  • Physical Development

  • Creative Development

Learning is emphasized through play, whilst being flexible enough to allow for individual growth, and structured enough to promote cognitive skills and self-discipline, via quality learning time with the teacher.  Our year-around approach to learning, accommodates for different rates at which children develop our caregivers help child develop his unique qualities to his fullest potential whilst having fun!  

Each weekly program unit is built around a theme and presents daily activities to introduce or to reinforce at least ten developmental skills that lay the foundation for future academics.  In this way, every day is filled with a healthy mix of learning via developmentally age-appropriate activities and fun play.
 
In the classroom and on the playground, age-appropriate concepts are integrated into all aspects of play. Sometimes it's through a game. Another time it's through a song. Other times it's through exploration in our Discovery Corners in each classroom. By providing children with activities that match their developmental needs and abilities, learning occurs easily and naturally.

Jumeirah International Nursery School has programs for toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergartners.  Every aspect of our school, from the equipment to the layout, to the procedures, is designed to stimulate the cognitive, emotional, physical and social development of each child in each appropriate age range.  Touring our School, you will see that we have created a fun and engaging print-rich learning environment, in which our teachers personally attend, support and nurture each child's learning and development throughout the day.
