Recruitment Process
Step 1: Interviews
2. Shortlisted applicants are selected for an interview. Face to face interviews are conducted at different venues to be advised overseas: UAE / UK / EIRE.
3. Applicants are notified on the status of their applications normally within 30 to 90 days after the interview but no later than 30th April for a September academic year.
4. After the successful interview, applicants are moved to the “Priority Shortlist” and referees are contacted and documents are requested.
Step 2: Offer of Appointment
1. From the priority Shortlisted Applicant Pool, the Nursery makes Offers of Appointment.
2. Once an applicant has accepted and posted a signed contract with attested educational certificates, the Nursery issues the prospective ‘Employee and Teacher’s Handbook’.
3. The Nursery and the incumbent employee stay in regular contact before the prospective employee’s start date. The prospective employee submits his/her air-travel information (date/carrier/times etc), to the Nursery so that the Nursery picks up each overseas candidate from the Dubai International Airport.
4. Staff are expected to report to duty 5 days before the beginning of the academic term or year for Staff INSET and Induction.
5. As good practice each new employee should start attesting their educational certificates once he/she signs the offer of Appointment. (Refer to Attestation Procedure on the website).
Step 3: Securing a UAE Residence Visa
On initial hire, an employee is on a probationary period during which time the Nursery secures approvals from the various government departments. The Nursery obtains the UAE Residence Visa, UAE Work Permit and the Ministry of Education Teacher Status on behalf of each employee, provided that the employee submits his/her original educational certificates, attested educational certificates and any other supporting documents required within 1 month of joining the Nursery.
APPLICATION PROCESS
The whole process takes anywhere from 1 to 4 months and depends on the Nursery having all the correct documentation required for a visa. This period of time is taken since there are many government departments involved such as: UAE Ministry of Education, UAE Ministry of Labour & Social Affairs, Dubai Dept. of Immigration, Dubai Police, Dubai Dept. of Health and Medical Services, Knowledge and Human Development Authority and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
RESIDENCE VISA
Upon the Nursery’s receipt of all approvals from the various government departments, each employee must undergo a medical examination. Upon receipt of a medical clearance, the employee’s passport is forwarded to the Dubai Dept of Immigration for a residence visa stamp. The Immigration office returns the employee’s passport via courier to the Nursery with the UAE residence visa stamp.
